A member asked:

I have paroxysmal a fib and i am 70 years old, i only have short episodes 4 hours once in 2 weeks average .do i need to take rate control drugs?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably: Rate control drugs are often prescribed for atrial fibrillation. If it is recurrent and/or lasts >24 hours you may need blood thinners as well. Discuss with your md.
