A member asked:

Can you choke on dentures if you go into a seizure.

Possibly: Dentures are usually too big to choke on, but if they wedge in with the narrow piece, it's possible, but somewhat unlikely.

Most unlikely: Unless you have a small unilateral (one sided) partial it is extremely unlikely that choking during a seizure will occur. I know people thrash about during a seizure, but they are often clenching, and more likely to bite the tongue than spit out the partial.

Possible: Depends on the fit of the dentures. It is possible, but I have not heard of it happening. Usually the dentures are big enough that they cannot fit into the throat deep enough to block the airway completely, but enough to cause coughing and the beginnings of choking. Do not try to remove them from someone who is having a seizure -- you may very well lose a finger.
