Probably unrelated: Cefuroxime, if one reads the fda approved side-effect list, may cause urinary tract symptoms rarely, but this is usually a report based upon simultaneous illnesses occurring at the same time. In your case would look to see if this is true as a first measure. Consult with the doctor who rx'd the cefuroxime.
