If we believed them, then most triathletes would be "underweight" and most professional football players -- fantastic athletes -- would be "overweight." your ideal weight is whatever looks and feels right to you and enables you to perform your chosen sport(s) best.

Target weight: The usual desired Body Mass index for someone 179 cm tall ranges between 21.1-25.5 or 67-82 kg.This would be the average of normally built males.You would not be considered overweight by BMI until you hit 87 kg, but these parameters do not index for muscularity or body fat.They are just numbers.
