A member asked:

Male 50 robot prostectomy 1/20213:i have recently observed blood, clots and mucous in bm. am i at risk for rectal cancer? colonscopy will be sched asap

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Recommend GI eval.: Assuming you have had no radiation treatments related to treatment of your prostate cancer, the bleeding in your stool is unrelated to your prostate cancer and related to some underlying GI problem: polyp, cancer, colitis, hemorrhoids, diverticulosis, etc. Agree with colonoscopy as next step.
