3rd degree burn: Means full thickness skin injury with no sensation and dead skin. Most of this needs debbridement and skin grafting. A circular burn may need to be released, called an escharotomy to allow circulation. 3rd degree burns need expert care to avoid problems, tissue loss, infection, chronic scarring and contracture, see a specialist.
