Surgeon: Discusse with your surgeon. Pain is often treatable with combination of stretching, tylenol, (acetaminophen) nsaids, and limited low dose narcotics.

Talk to your surgeon: Usually less pain after vats c/w open surgery, but it still can hurt. Pain usually resolves over a few weeks. Nerve pain ( intercostal neuralgia) caused by trauma to the nerve between the ribs) can last longer.
