Hi doctors, was just wondering what is a pulmonary embolism and what causes it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Blood clot in lung: A pulmonary embolism is a blood clot that travels to the lung from a vein elsewhere in the body, often a leg vein there are called deep venous thromboses or dvts). Clots can form in the veins for a number of reasons, including trauma, immobility, and conditions that predispose you to form blood clots. If you are concerned about pulmonary embolism or deep venous thrombosis, see a doctor.
