Caution advised: Inguinal exploration suggests that testes are not palpable. In which case inguinal ; abdominal ultrasound may demonstrate non-palpable high inguinal or intra-abdominal testes. Diagnostic laparoscopy best to identify intra-abdominal testes. Then correct surgical approach may well be trans-abdominal or laparoscopic and not inguinal. Consider 2nd opinion by pediatric urologist. Good luck.
