Can you tell me about macular puckering and was it a success?

Macular pucker is: due to traction (pulling) on the inner lining of the retina from abnormal tissue growth. If the pucker is due to vitreomacular traction (VMT), an injection of Jetrea can sometimes release the traction. If the pucker is due to an epiretinal membrane (ERM) then surgical intervention with a membrane peel can be very successful in restoring normal anatomy if treated (case dependent).

Surgery helpful: The term epiretinal membrane or macular pucker refers to "scar tissue on macula." vision can be affected in two ways: blurring and distortion. Surgery is often recommended when the distortion is severe, or disruptive to vision using both eyes together, or when vision is very blurry (poor acuity). Surgery usually improves distortion in most cases, and visual acuity in about 2 out of 3 patients.

Macular pucker : Macular pucker is essentially a wrinkle on the surface of your retina (wallpaper in the back inside surface of your eye). It can affect vision, and if it is bad enough, it can be surgically removed.
