Macular hole: Is a terrible disorder in which the center part of the retina is ripped. It causes immediate blindness. Surgery can restore some vision in some cases.

Fixable: A macular hole represents an opening of the central vision area of the vision tissue (retina) that develops. It is usually associated with a decline in visual acuity and 'funny' "scrunched up" vision centrally. Having surgery to repair the macular hole has greater than 90% success rate, and the vision is usually dramatically improved compared to be fore surgery, but not as good as it was.
