A member asked:

Can you explain the major types of color blindness please?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Several: There are serious color deficiencies due to total substitution causing confusion in the red-green or yellow-blue axis. There are less serious ones causing confusion only for desaturated colors in the same axis. Rarely all color may not be perceived and there are color deficiencies due to broad spectrum retinal and optic nerve diseases like diabetes and optic nerve dysfunction.
