Dystonia definition: Dystonia refers to a neurologic condition consisting of involuntary movements of the body due to abnormally prolonged and inappropriate muscle activity. Dyskinesia refers to involuntary movements but can encompass a larger range of movements including tremor, dystonia or chorea. The term "dyskinesias" is used in the setting of parkinson's disease and with chronic antipsychotic use (tardive).
