Possibilities...: Etiologies for a chronic cough include bronchospasm from any etiology (ex. Asthma, chronic bronchitis, med side-effect, etc.), gerd, post-nasal drip or even a combination of these. All of these have different treatments so treating your cough is dependent on diagnosing it. You ought to be seen by a lung specialist for a diagnostic work-up followed by treatment. If you smoke, you will need to quit!
