Rheumatology.org: Wegener's granulomatosis is a systemic vasculitis associated with the presence of pr3 antibodies, also known as a canca. It usually begins as a chronic sinusitis or pneumonia but can effect almost any organ in the body. The treatment depends on the severity of the disease. High dose Methotrexate is often sufficient for mild cases while Rituxan (rituximab) is now the drug of choice for more severe disease.
