Since calories refer to a unit of energy, a tiny unit of energy from a human perspective, existing vs. No longer existing relates to Einstein's theory of relativity: E=Mc2, meaning energy is uncongealed matter & matter is congealed energy, interchangeable with a gigantic equation constant. No negative energy.
