A member asked:

Could broadening the shoulders and raising traps make the neck look shorter?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Basically yes. As the trapezius muscles get larger and generally all the muscles around the shoulders as they get larger, it does give the appearance that the neck is shorter. It really isn't, it just appears that way.
