A member asked:

Could food irradiation give you cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: This has been examined with amazing care by people who actually want to regulate / ban things. The radiation is gone before you get near it. Even the chief activist who led opposition to it, could find only one by-product chemical that's a putative carcinogen in tiny amounts, and similar chemicals are widespread in a "healthy natural diet." there are health, economic ; safety benefits.
