A member asked:

Do you know are situs inversus patients predisposed to any health conditions?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends...: If you are asking about atriovisceral situs inversus, then heterotaxy, gut malrotation, and congenital heart disease is not uncommon. If it's situs inversus totalis, then usually people are normal, unless kartagener's syndrome is present with dysfunction of the cilia. Kartagener's is associated with frequent pulmonary infections and sometimes infertility.
