Slurring as a symptom of ALS is only part of a very complex series of symptoms. If concerned about ALS, a patient would see their primary care Dr for a full exam and complete neurological exam, followed by lab tests, imaging, etc to rule out other causes for the symptoms.

At age 32 yrs, it is highly unlikely to suffer ALS, and would be extremely unusual to present solely with slurring, as the typical speech problem in true motor neuron disease involves weakness of tongue muscles causing dysarthria speech. Perhaps, most salient, is why you are focused on ALS; does this run in your family??
