A member asked:

Could you take phentermine for your diet after you had stents put in your heart?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Phentermine is a stimulant medication in the same pharmacologic class as amphetamines and methamphetamine ("meth"). In my opinion this medication is dangerous for all patients, and for heart patients it is particularly dangerous because stimulants can cause worsening of angina or lead to life-threatening rhythm problems.
