L5 radiculopathy: Usually an l-5 radiculopathy is caused by a disk bulge or herniation at l4-l5 where the nerve exits from the spinal canal through tie neuroforamen. Radiculopathy may involve pain in a dermatome going to the dorsum of the foot tipically to the space between the great and second toes. It may cause foot drop or weakness of extension of the foot at the ankle. It may cause numbness as the pain subsid.
