Unlikely: small minor local procedures surgeon may allow . Any major surgery lot of coordination , quietness ,non interference , sterile environment etc are required O R is not a place for non professional people , in case your mother faints there are no additional personnel to take care of her . Don't worry highly trained professionals will be taking care of you.
