Gallstones: Just because you have a gallstone it does not mean it is the cause of the pain. A ultrasound or hida scan may be helpful to see if the gallbladder is inflamed or if the stone is causing problems. A sonographic murphy sign ( pain during ultrasound of the gallbladder) is a very helpful sign. Correlation with liver fungallstone attacks are more frequent just after eating and when eating fatty foods.

Possibly: Gallstones can certainly cause abdomen pain. In addition, gallstones are an indication that the gallbladder may not be working correctly. Sometimes the only way to know for sure is to remove the gallbladder and see if it helps. The surgery has a very low complication rate.
