Tooth wax or temp : If tooth is sharp, you can buy some wax at drug store and place over tooth chip. If tooth is hurting, you can also buy some temporary filling material, called tempfil and try to place in tooth until, dental visit.

Be careful eating: The major concern with a chipped tooth is that is may chip or fracture more before it is treated. With that in mind, one must be extremely careful eating any foods on that side of the mouth. Eat a soft diet, keep the area clean by brushing and rinsing and seek dental consultation immediately.

Buy dent-temp: First, swish with warm salt water to remove any large food particles that you can. Go the pharmacy and buy dent-temp, this should help temporarily until you see the dentist.
