Depends: The most uncomfortable part about a right heart catheterization is in general the insertion of the "sheath" or the specialized IV through which the doctor performs the procedure. This usually entails injection of local anesthetic which feels a little like a bee sting at first, and then a pressure sensation when the sheath is put in. After that there should be minimal discomfort.
