Osteonecrosis: Osteo ( = bone) necrosis ( = death): for details, you will see more info by typing, "osteonecrosis of the jaw" or "onj". It is a condition of the bone where the normal mechanism of cleaning up damaged bone and replacing with new bone are disrupted. People who have taken some medication or radiation therapy may experience this more often although it may occur rather spontaneously.
