Yes: Lidocaine taken by injection or in high dosed via topical ( ointment) can rise to dangerous blood levels if the dose isn't calculated. The Lidocaine will first cause a mouth lip numbness followed by ringing ears and a decrease in blood pressure that's the time you may pass out.
