No: Avoid using household chemicals on your skin. Over the counter products that help that are witch hazel the astringent , sarna lotion, and aveeno (oatmeal) bath oil when using a wash cloth in the shower.

Yes: As long as it works even though it is not the best option. The risk of becoming allergic to Lidocaine is extremely low.
