Do they try to resuctiate a baby at 22 weeks?

Most would not: Generally 24 weeks is considered the earliest a baby may be able to survive. Even at 24 weeks most baies will not survive. Before 24 weeks there is even less chance of survival. Most bables born at 24 weeks that do survive are going to have very extensive debilities due the the effects of extreme prematurity.

Not realistic: Since the lungs are not formed enough to sustain them, such efforts would simply prolong the act of dying. Most states consider a fetus delivered with a heartbeat a live birth and the breathing muscle may move and produce a squeak in the airway, but the humane thing to do is put them on a warm resuscitation stand under oxygen and let nature take its course. Sad but realistic.
