A member asked:

Following a bad cataract surgery and loss of iris, can a lens still be put in the eye to see, what to do?

Yes: The artificial lens is supported by the back capsule of the natural lens. If this is gone the lens can be surured to the sclera on the inside. Also, there are synthetic iris's now made and available for implantation in just these circumstances. If all is otherwise normal, these steps can have a nigh percentage of success.

Post Cataract Surg: Yes, an intraocular lens (IOL) can still be placed into the eye even with an extensive loss of iris. Innovative artificial iris implants are also available to avoid post operative glare that can occur after iris loss after cataract surgery. More info at: eyedoc2020.blogspot.com
