Keep the cat inside: Observe the cat for 10 days. If it dies it must be checked for rabies. Check with your vet for record of shots to prevent rabies in the cat. Check with your dr about maybe treatment to prevent rabies. Meanwhile keep it clean. Take the child to dr. If there is signifinant swelling, pain, pus, spreading redness. Avoid bacitracin, neosporin, or triple antibiotic.
