Ask your doctor: Ask the doctor ordering the test what s/he wants you to do. Gastric parietal cells respond to at least 3 triggers to secrete stomach acid: gastrin, acetylcholine (muscarinic receptors), and histamine (h2 receptors). You're also on cimetadine. Mirtazepine does have a strong antihistaminic and some anticholinergic effects. Fluvoxamine ; venlafaxine are reportedly devoid of these effects.
