Downs Syndrome: Early intervention, therapy and special education is all you can do.Some kids with downs syndrome are capable of independent living, others in group homes and some in their own family system with a little understanding.Gene therapy and stem cell therapy? May be in near or no so distant future.

Education/support: These kids need and deserve any treatment for medical conditions that any other kid would get, and some may be life threatening.Parents must learn how to find good help and avoid the snake oil salesmen. Physical and speech therapy, alternative education, are all standard. Special diets, meds, are suspect. A regional support group is a great way to learn the process.
