Cold sore : Cold sores will heal on their own in 7-10 days. Don't do anything to irritate them or remove any scab. Orabase ointment otc is an oral bandage that sticks to the mouth and to sores. Place on the sore at mealtime to reduce any pain and keep it from being irritated.

Studies also show regular use can help v recurrences. Brief supplementation w lysine 1,000mg orally 3x a day at the onset, can hasten healing. Your dermatologist can provide laser treatments.
