Sinus: Most pain in or around an eye is from sinusitis or headache. Pain reliever and decongestant should relieve it. If not, or if it is getting worse, go see your doctor. It could also be due to an eye problem such an inflammation in (called uveitis) or around the eye. You need to see an eye doctor to really rule this out.

Yes. Rarely.: It could also be a sinus infection. If there is any change in the vision, seek an eye exam urgently. If the pain does not go away, seek medical attention. By now, you may know that any small pain can occasionally be serious. Most of the time, it's sinus though. Once in a while we see retrobulbar optic neuritis or something medically less common. So, if it isn't better, than get it checked!
