Consider being seen: There are a number of possibilities and if it does not improve, you should consider being seen. Among the structures on the left side in that area are the lung, ribs, stomach and pancreas, all of which could potentially cause pain. Costochondritis, which is an inflammation of the rib-cartilage junction is among the more common causes and is quite benign, but you could also have a pneumonia.
