A member asked:

Is it possible for a bladder infection to interfere with an accurate urine pregnancy test? or could it be causing a 3 week late period?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No : A pregnancy test measures a hormone called human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hcg). Hcg is a hormone produced during pregnancy. It appears in the blood and urine of pregnant women as early as 10 days after conception. A UTI has no effect on HCG levels in blood or urine and an uncomplicated UTI would be a very unlikely cause of 3 week missed period.
