Let your MD know: It appears that most, if not all, of the bowel preps that contain "sodium phosphate" as the primary active ingredient carry this warning but I am unable to determine the exact reason after a brief exhaustive search. I suspect it may be related to a concern that pts with prior stomach stapling may be at a higher risk for pulmonary aspiration. I doubt there is any real concern, but tell your md.

Call the center : Where the procedure is to be done. The "prep" is the worst part of the exam. Osmo-draws water into the gut, and stomach stapling procedure should not be a problem. ..But ask them. The alternative, dulcolax suppositiries may not suffieicently clean for the exam.
