No: Heavy menstrual bleeding can cause iron deficinecy anemia but anemia does not cause menstrual cramps.

Not associated: Iron deficiency should not cause cramping. However, taking iron orally does cause some people to have cramping. Some preparations are less associated with cramping than others. Ladies must replace iron lost in menses with vitamin/iron preparation and diet. Speak to your physician.
