Sort of: Running puts significant stress on the knees with repetitive microtrauma. Over the long term this can lead to arthritic damage.

Running: As stated , unless there is biomechanical issue putting uneven stress on the joint(s) they usually do well. See your podiatrist or sports med doc for an evaluation.
