Holter monitor: Have a 24 hour holter monitor study to show that these are occasional benign single pvc's and don't come in runs. A pulse monitor may not pick up the pvc's which are often adynamic and thus the reading of the rate will be falsely low. Be sure to avoid caffeine and alcohol which aggravate the problem. The metoprolol dose may need to be increased. A cardiologist should be consulted.
