A member asked:

I had my gallbladder removed april 2013. is it normal for some people to take a year or more for stomach to get adjusted without gallbladder?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: Not sure what you mean by the term "adjusted", but it can take a while. Diarrhea would be one side effect that can be treated with a medication called cholestyramine. It is also possible that some symptoms were present before the gallbladder removal, and were not noticed due to gallbladder symptoms. Now that the gallbladder is gone, they are more noticeable. Hope this helps!
