Generic vs brand: There are some forms of generic drugs that are as effective as the brand drugs and others are not. Some patients may experience different results depending certain components of those products. In general, generics will work as well as brand name medications but there are some differences in certain products.

It depends: All generic forms are supposed to have the same amount of active ingredient in them, but may have different additives and colorings. Pharmacies buy different generics, and you may respond differently to one than another -- doing well with company a's generic, but not company b's version. You might not realize this until feeling worse ; not knowing why. Response to brand name drug is more uniform.
