Maybe chord bleed: If you had a coughing spell, you might have suffered a small hemorrhage on your vocal chords which can cause your voice to sound different. Another explanation is that the same inflammation which led to your coughing, is also involving your vocal chords. Usually either of these causes will resolve on their own, given time. You're doing the right thing by fluids and rest.
