Trauma/infection: We naturally have slight asymmetry when one side compared to other. If more than natural asymmetry, soft tissue swelling over the zygomatic arch can sometimes be attributed too trauma (swelling will disappear) or infection (swelling will worsen). Why don't you do the prudent thing and ask your physician or dentist to check you out.

It could be: Normal variation or perhaps could be from past injury or bruising, inflammation or infection.U also mentioned about difficulty speaking some words which could be related to developmental or neurologic condition. See your dr for a thorough evaluation. Take care!
