Referred pain: You are probably touching a tendon or a trigger point that causes referred pain to the head. See your primary care physician who will be able to help you.

Blood clot: Is a small possibility. You should get venous duplex scan if the pain is in the vein. Also warm compresses and Ibuprofen helps. Radiating pain seems like it could be due to nerve. Please see your doctor.
