This may be as simple as a pulled muscle, which can be quite painful, or sleeping on it wrong causing a muscle strain. If it is not improving with heat to the area and over the counter pain medication such as ibuprofen (if you have no medical contraindications to that), then I recommend you be examined by your doctor, or an urgent care or ER. If it worsens, you should do that sooner than later.
