A member asked:

Can emotional trauma damage your memory?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes.: But not likely to be permanent. Emotional trauma may cause distraction and therefore an inability to properly attend to your environment and to properly store and retrieve information. Even daydreaming - reliving a pleasant experience- can interfere with memory. Who hasn't burnt cookies when some other thought got in the way?
