Any cause for..: Inflammation causes a rise in crp! arthritis, trauma, infection, and even certain metabolic diseases such as diabetes can do it as well. A high CRP is associated with cardiovascular and stroke disease risk, because inflammation releases chemical that damage the blood vessel lining. It is not the CRP doing damage, but it is the best surrogate marker for inflammation!
